![]() This is a scarf that I made for one of my daughter's friends. It was fast and easy to make, using only the garter stitch. However, it might be a little difficult for a novice because the yarn is kind of tricky to keep tabs on at first. Since this scarf is intended for a child, it is shorter than I would want it if I were making it for an adult. If you decide to make it for an adult, you could either buy 1 more skein of yarn, or to save a bit of money, cast on 15 instead of 20 sts and make it longer. You'll need:
Instructions: Cast on 20sts Knit, knit, knit until you have 40 inches done. Bind off. Next, make some tassles out of the remaining yarn. (I made my tassles by wrapping yarn around a videocassete - 20 times for the 20 sts across, - cutting and pulling them through with a crochet hook. You don't have to space them perfectly, just go across the ends and attach the tassles. If you have spaces that look bare, just add more. You should have enough yarn left over to add as much as you want. After you have the tassles on, lay it out flat and trim them so they are all about the same length.) ![]()
